Founders: Judith Leiber and Gerson Leiber. They sold their firm in 1993, which now is operating several boutiques from NYC and expanding into the European, Asian, Indian, and Dubai markets.

 

Specialties: whimsical minaudieres sparkling with thousands of Swarovski crystals; and colorful exotic skins, alligator and crocodile daytime bags, leather and textile purses encrusted with semi-precious gems. Awards: Handbag Designer of the Year Award of 1992, the Council of Fashion Designers of America Lifetime Achievement Award of 1994.

 

Museum exhibitions: Museum of the City of New York, the Fashion Institute of Technology, The Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., the Victoria & Albert Museum in London (England), the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. One of the most popular, highly collectible American brands of all times coveted by celebrities and dignitaries worldwide!
